Terms and Conditions – Online Psychological Counseling

1. General framework

The services provided consist of online psychological counseling and clinical psychology, carried out in a professional and confidential setting and in compliance with the ethical standards of the psychology profession.

Online psychological counseling involves video-conference meetings between the client and the psychologist, with the purpose of support, clarification, emotional stabilization, and guidance.

The activity does not constitute psychotherapy with Approbation in Germany, does not involve medical diagnosis, and does not replace medical evaluation or treatment.

2. Eligibility

  • The services are intended for adults (18+).
  • Minors may benefit from counseling only with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian.
  • Children under the age of 14 do not receive online counseling, due to the need for specific face-to-face intervention methods.
  • Parents of children under 14 may benefit from parental counseling and guidance.

3. Confidentiality and data protection

All information provided during counseling sessions is strictly confidential.

  • No audio or video recordings of the sessions are made.
  • Personal data are not disclosed to third parties.
  • Online communication takes place via applications that use data encryption.

Confidentiality may be limited only in situations provided for by law (e.g., serious risk to oneself or others).

4. Conduct of the sessions

All information provided during counseling sessions is strictly confidential.

  • Sessions take place online, via video conference.
  • The duration of a session is 60 minutes.
  • The quality and structure are similar to sessions conducted in an office setting.
  • The client is responsible for ensuring a quiet and private space, free from interruptions.

5. Appointments and payments

  • Sessions take place by appointment only.
  • An appointment is considered confirmed after payment for the session.

6. Cancellation policy

  • Cancellations announced at least 24 hours in advance may be rescheduled.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or failure to attend result in the loss of the paid session.
  • All scheduled sessions are considered reserved exclusively for the client.

7. Client responsibility

The client is responsible for:

  • the accuracy of the information provided
  • active involvement in the counseling process
  • respecting the agreed appointments

The effectiveness of counseling is influenced by the client’s openness, honesty, and active participation.

8. Limits of the services provided

Online psychological counseling:

  • does not include medical diagnosis
  • does not involve prescribing medication
  • does not replace psychiatric or medical evaluation

When necessary, the psychologist may recommend medical or psychiatric consultation, without establishing a diagnosis or treatment.

9. Termination of counseling

The client may request termination of counseling at any time.
Counseling may also be discontinued in the following situations:

  • lack of the necessary time
  • financial difficulties
  • non-payment or failure to attend two consecutive sessions

All situations are discussed openly and responsibly.

10. Acceptance of the terms

By scheduling and participating in online psychological counseling sessions, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and accept these Terms and Conditions.
